Goodreads Summary
The thrilling third installment to the Edgar-nominated, bestselling series.
Rory
and her friends are reeling from a series of sudden and tragic events.
While racked with grief, Rory tries to determine if she acted in time to
save a member of the squad. If she did, how do you find a ghost? Also,
Rory’s classmate Charlotte has been kidnapped by Jane and her nefarious
organization. Evidence is uncovered of a forty-year-old cult, ten
missing teenagers, and a likely mass murder. Everything indicates that
Charlotte’s in danger, and it seems that something much bigger and much
more terrible is coming.
Time is running out as Rory fights to
find her friends and the ghost squad struggles to stop Jane from
unleashing her spectral nightmare on the entire city. In the process,
they'll discover the existence of an organization that underpins London
itself—and Rory will learn that someone she trusts has been keeping a
tremendous secret.
My Thoughts
Writing reviews for sequels is so tricky because I cannot give too much away. I will say that this book didn't go exactly as I thought it would after what happened at the end of book 2, but I'm ok with that. I liked how it progressed. I wish some people were in it more than they were, but I understand why it had to be that way.
I thought this was going to be a trilogy, but I guess I was wrong and I'm alright with that considering all the questions I have after this one. Sid and Sadie are definitely going to play a major role in the next book. They will cause problems and the gang will have a tough time dealing with them. I think Jerome and Jazza will also cause a little rift for Rory and the gang after what happened at the end.
Ok I'm giving too much away. I'll just say that I really enjoy this series and you should give it a try if you want to read something a little different.
